The Southern Market Linkage Roundtable is a structured dialogue between NASFAM southern region associations and a curated group of commercial buyers, agro-processors, and institutional purchasers active in the region. The event serves as the primary platform for establishing and renewing commodity supply arrangements ahead of the main growing and harvesting season.
The morning session provides farmer association representatives with an overview of current market conditions, including commodity price trends, quality requirements for domestic and export markets, and volumes that buyers are seeking for the coming season. Buyers present their specifications and preferred supply arrangements in a structured format that allows associations to assess alignment with their own production plans.
Afternoon sessions provide dedicated time for bilateral discussions between individual associations and interested buyers, with NASFAM market officers facilitating to ensure conversations progress toward concrete commitments. Associations that successfully conclude preliminary supply agreements at the roundtable receive priority support from NASFAM's market linkage team in finalising contract documentation.
A networking session at the conclusion of the day allows informal relationship-building between association leaders, buyers, and NASFAM staff. Past roundtables have generated significant pre-season contracting activity, with several long-term supply relationships originating from initial conversations at this event.
